- Re-development of a 2.31 acre paved site with vacant building planned for demolition
- Construction of new two-story, 25,000-square-foot police station and impound garage
- Project Challenges / Innovation:
- SGS won competitive bid and met City of Augusta guidelines for the project
- Adapted to evolving project design features and building layouts
- Geotechnical considerations included buried pockets of miscellaneous fill/debris, varying soils across the site, large slope at the rear of property, raising grade to meet flood design elevation, numerous buried utilities including large sewer main, and existing building obstructing a large portion of new building footprint.
